The moon in a clear blue sky. Many thanks to Diane Hale Smith for lovely moon shots!
The moon looks so unfamiliar swimming in a turquoise sky–like a fish out of water. Makes me feel uneasy, like seeing a day-flying owl or bat. My first instinct is to report it to someone (not sure who) so something can be done to put things right. What’s the moon doing up there at high noon??!
But of course the moon is often in the daylight sky. I just never notice it. We tend to take for granted that things are the way we expect them to be–I got the sun in the morning and the moon at night–tulips are always red and leaves are always green. It’s unsettling when things break free of our stereotypes.
Moon in night sky. Ah, that’s more like it.
